The Pheidole noda, commonly known as the Asian Big headed Ant, is a fan favorite in the hobby for those who want an aggressive, fast growing, and highly active species. While they share the “Big headed” title with many cousins, P. noda is particularly famous for its impressive recruitment when they find food, the entire colony seems to explode into the outworld within seconds. They are a “mid-sized” Pheidole, larger than the invasive P. megacephala but more compact than the giant P. sinica.
