Terms & Conditions
1. Introduction and Agreement
Welcome to Antglobe. By accessing our website and purchasing our products, you enter into a legally binding agreement with us. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our services and the purchase of both livestock and hardware.
2. Eligibility and Responsibility
The keeping of live animals requires a significant level of responsibility. By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age or have received explicit permission from a legal guardian. Antglobe reserves the right to refuse service to anyone we believe cannot provide adequate care for the species in question.
3. Nature of Biological Specimens
When purchasing from Antglobe, you are acquiring living organisms. While we guarantee that all colonies are healthy and vetted upon departure, we cannot provide warranties regarding:
-
Colony Behavior: Every colony is a unique biological entity. We do not guarantee specific growth rates or activity levels.
-
Longevity: The long term survival of the colony depends entirely on the environment and care provided by the keeper (e.g., humidity, temperature, and diet).
4. No-Return Policy on Livestock
In compliance with international regulations regarding the transport of live animals and perishable goods, all sales of live ant colonies are final. For biosecurity and animal welfare reasons, we cannot accept returns on live specimens. Once a colony has been delivered, the responsibility for its welfare rests solely with the customer.
5. Hardware and Equipment Returns
For non-living products (formicaria, tools, and accessories):
-
14-Day Window: You may return unused products within 14 days of receipt.
-
Condition for Return: Items must be in their original packaging and strictly unused. For biosecurity reasons, any item that has been in contact with substrate, hydration, or ants is ineligible for return.
-
Logistics: Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the product arrived damaged or defective.
6. Biosecurity and Ethical Keeping
At Antglobe, we take environmental protection seriously. By purchasing from us, you agree to the following:
-
No Release: Under no circumstances should ants whether native or exotic be released into the wild. This can cause irreparable damage to local ecosystems.
-
Ethical Rehoming: If you are no longer able to care for your colony, please contact us. We will assist you in finding an solution or a new home for the animals.
-
Local Laws: It is your responsibility to ensure that the species you order is legal to possess in your region. Antglobe is not liable for packages seized or destroyed by customs authorities due to local import restrictions.
7. Limitation of Liability
Antglobe provides the equipment and the livestock, but the management of the colony is the keeper’s responsibility. Antglobe is not liable for any property damage, stings, or allergic reactions resulting from the escape or handling of ants, or the improper use of our equipment.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, macro photography, and branding, is the property of Antglobe. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of our media for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited.
9. Dispute Resolution
We are committed to the hobby and our customers. In the event of a disagreement, we encourage you to contact us directly. We aim to resolve all issues through professional dialogue and a shared passion for ant keeping.
