The Story Behind Antglobe

It all started when I was just eleven years old. While other kids were playing football, I was outside, completely fascinated by the tiny, complex worlds happening right under our feet. What began as a childhood obsession quickly grew into a passion for ant keeping. I spent years learning their patterns, their needs, and the quiet patience the hobby requires.

In 2022, I decided to take that passion a step further and founded my first shop, Goedkoopmieren. My goal was simple: I wanted to make this incredible hobby accessible to everyone. I noticed that high quality setups were often too expensive or hard to find, so I set out to create a place where quality and fair pricing go hand in hand.

As the community grew, so did my vision. In 2023, I decided to go international, moving beyond the Netherlands to help keepers all across Europe and beyond. To reflect this new global mission, I rebranded the shop to Antglobe.

But despite the new name and the international reach, my approach remains the same. Every colony I sell is handled with extreme care. Before a queen or a colony ever leaves my hands, I keep them under my personal supervision for at least two weeks. I need to know they are healthy, stable, and ready to thrive before they start their new journey with you. Even the nests I offer aren’t just random products, they’ve been tested by multiple keepers and different ant species to make sure they actually work in practice.

Since starting this journey, I’ve been lucky enough to ship ants to hobbyists in over twenty countries. But for me, the job doesn’t end when the package is delivered. I’m Rick, and I’m here to help. Whether you’re just starting your very first colony or you’re a seasoned keeper with a technical question, I’m always just a message away.

Every colony starts with a single queen. I’m just here to help you take care of yours.
